Living on an island you get water front sunrises and sunsets.. there is nothing more peaceful than waking up to watch the sunrise out of the ocean. Some resorts offer sunrise beach yoga or you can find a local park and do sunrise yoga or just walk to the end of a street towards the east and you will find water with the sun rising out of it.. Not much is going on that early in the morning around here.. the only ones up are the fishermen getting ready for their day. Some fishermen get up around 3:30/4am depending of where they dock the boat and how far they will be traveling that day.

As for Sunset so many more people are out and about.. many bayside restaurants offer sunset dining or just bars that you can watch the sunset at.. because normally happy hour is around the same time that the sun is making it’s way down into the bay. it is tradition to blow the conch horn as soon as the sun goes down to send the sun away with a warm greeting..  Some of my favorite upper keys locations to watch the sunset are..

  • Caribbean Club
  • Sundowners
  • Islamorada Fish company
  • Lorelei
  • Mile Marker 88
  • Bayside Grill

A few lower keys places are

  • Sunset Grill
  • Keys fishers in Marathon
  • Lazy days -South

In Key West they even have a Sunset Celebration down in Mallory square, full of street performers and local art venders. It is a site to see.. locals and tourists alike come out to see..

Make sure you take the time to see the Sunrise and Sunset at least once when you are down in the islands..
